Congratulations New Black Belts!!
Top Form Karate in
Weirton, WV hosted the UFAF Region 8 CKD Black Belt test and
seminars on Nov 5th and 6th, 2010.
The weekend started off Friday night with awesome seminars
by 6th Degree Master Instructor and current Norris Cup
Fighting Champion Steve Giroux from Giroux Bros. Martial
Arts and 5th Degree Master Instructor Pat Davis from Presti
Karate.
The seminars were a big hit with Mr. Giroux doing what he
does best…. Fighting! After some warm ups and kicking and
blitzing drills, Mr. Giroux made sure to spar with every
student there! Mr. Davis covered core CKD with students and
helped bring out some “Ah ha” moments with stances and
footwork… and a lot of sore legs the next day.
The testing started Saturday morning at 9am with the 1st
degree black belt test, followed by the 2nd degree test in
the afternoon. With 13 testing for 1st degree, it was big
test with a great performance by all. The 2nd degree test
consisted of 7 candidates, all earning their rank with a
special notice to what a great job they did on the one step
portion of the test.
